The name Soroptimist means “best for women”, and that is exactly what the organization strives to achieve.
Soroptimists donate freely of their time and money to serve their community and support the vision of the Soroptimist organization.
Founded in 1921, Soroptimist is an international organization of business professionals who dream of making the world a better place for women and girls. Almost 100,000 Soroptimists in about 120 countries and territories contribute time and financial support to community-based and international projects benefiting women and girls. Soroptimist members belong to local clubs (such as Soroptimist International of Maui) which determine the focus of service to their communities.
